We have already talked about lots of rules to follow while dissertation papers writing. Now we are going to talk about the things that every dissertation writer should avoid while working on his or her project. So, let us consider these things:
Overcomplicated language. Dissertation papers are, without doubts, scientific papers, still, every writer of dissertation papers should realize the necessity of being simple and clear in expressing the thoughts. Of course, you cannot but use special terms but it should be explained in your own words. You should show that you are aware of what you are talking about;
Repetitions. It is not that challenging to find another ways of expressing one and the same thoughts. For example, you may choose synonyms or rephrase the words that have already been mentioned in the text of your dissertation paper. If you repeat one and the same words for several times, your paper will sound rather funny;
Personal pronouns. Avoiding personal pronouns is the major features of the formal style. The formal style is required in dissertation papers. That is why you had better not use the phrases like “I discovered that”, “I think that”. It is better to use “they have found out”, “they consider that” instead;
Too long and complex sentences. No one will like to read a sentence that takes 5 lines in the text of your dissertation. Besides, long sentences make you forget what you have read at the beginning.
So, take this information into account if you want to be successful in your dissertation paper.
